About AIM
Everything comes out of the ground..
AIM is on the cutting edge of Physical AI, automating the earthmoving industry — safely, reliably, and at speed — enabling a transformation in an industry that has been largely unchanged for over 100 years. Through our technology, we transform heavy machinery—bulldozers, loaders, excavators—into AI-powered fleets that operate autonomously in the world’s harshest environments.
Built by engineers from mining, construction, Waymo, SpaceX, Google, and Tesla, AIM is scaling rapidly across deployments, partnerships, and technical capability. Our autonomy platform operates in mining, construction, military, and extreme-condition environments across the globe to turbocharge the global economy’s physical foundation.
AIM is backed by some of the most sophisticated capital in the world, including General Catalyst, Khosla Ventures, Elad Gil, Human Capital, Ironspring Ventures, Mantis, and DCVC. Learn more about AIM here.
The Role
AIM is seeking a Head of Talent to develop and deliver the talent strategy required to transform a century-old industry.
This role lives at the intersection of strategy and execution.
You're a builder. You translate engineering roadmaps and revenue forecasts into clear, actionable hiring plans—fueling rapid near-term growth while laying the foundation for long-term success. You'll transform AIM into a destination for the world's most ambitious talent in autonomy, and you'll bring the same rigor to strategically placing critical leaders across corporate functions like Finance, Legal, and HR—building the team that carries us into our next phase of growth.
You're an owner and a driver, ready to wrap your arms around the entire talent ecosystem—from systems and recruiting operations to employer brand and enablement.
Key Responsibilities:
Architect and deliver a global talent acquisition strategy — Partner with the CEO and senior engineering leadership to build a comprehensive talent strategy that powers immediate priorities and sustains long-term growth.
Lead a team of world-class recruiters — Build a high-trust, high-accountability culture grounded in mentorship, ownership, data-driven decisions, and continuous improvement.
Drive operational discipline across the hiring lifecycle — Hold the team to exceptional standards: rigorous, consistent assessments and disciplined interview hygiene. Establish operating rhythms that leaders rely on for pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and sound decisions.
Build a compelling talent brand and programs — Partner with the Head of Marketing to deliver a globally consistent employer brand and a candidate experience that sets us apart.
Iterate with rigorous data and analytics — Partner with Engineering, Sales, and Finance to align recruiter capacity, headcount planning, and budget forecasting, and to drive long-term workforce modeling and geographic expansion.
Own the technical hiring ecosystem — Rationalize and integrate systems to improve reporting integrity, reduce redundancy, and establish clear data governance.
What We're Looking For
8+ years of progressive Talent Acquisition experience, including senior leadership roles at high-growth technology companies and oversight of multiple functions within a talent org (recruiting, operations, systems).
Proven ability to scale recruiting organizations in complex, ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
Track record of high leverage and stakeholder management, including placing executive-level and key leadership hires.
Experience managing external talent agencies, partners, and RPOs.
Exceptional operating discipline and execution excellence—you set a high bar and consistently deliver against it.
A hands-on approach—equally comfortable as strategist and executor.
Genuine curiosity about hardware, autonomy, and industrial technology.
Nice to Have
Experience in construction, mining, defense, agriculture, or other heavy industry verticals
Background working with autonomous systems, robotics, or industrial software
Experience building teams and setting talent strategy for first-mover technology companies
Location & Work Model
This role is onsite, based at our Redmond, WA location.
Compensation
Base Range - $190,000-$225,000 with generous equity package.
AIM sits at the intersection of sci-fi future, childlike wonder and industrial reality — where a 100-ton machine operating autonomously isn't a concept, it's Tuesday. We are serious about transforming industry. If that excites you, this is where you belong.
