Electrical Engineer
We are seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our growing hardware development team. In this role, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of electronic hardware with a strong emphasis on printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) development, testing and validation, wiring/cable assembly design, and system integration. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including mechanical engineering, firmware, manufacturing operations, and forward deployment—to bring new products from concept to production.
You Will Work On:
- Support the design, layout, and documentation of PCBAs for new and existing products.
- Create and maintain schematics, BOMs, assembly drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Assist in component selection, circuit simulation, and design reviews.
- Execute hardware bring-up, functional testing, characterization, and validation of electronic assemblies.
- Develop test plans, perform root-cause analysis, and document test results and design changes.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to support PCBA fabrication, DFM/DFT reviews, and issue resolution.
- Design and document wiring harnesses and cable assemblies, including connector selection, pinouts, wire gauges, shielding, and routing requirements.
- Support prototype builds, laboratory testing, and system integration activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance product reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2+ years experience in a cross-functional EE role
- Solid understanding of analog and digital circuit design fundamentals.
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, or equivalent).
- Basic knowledge of wiring harness/cable assembly practices, connectors, and electrical interfaces.
- Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and logic analyzers.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Ability to interpret datasheets, technical drawings, and industry standards.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong ownership and willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
Ideal Candidate Will Also Have Experience with:
- Exposure to manufacturing processes for PCBAs and cable assemblies.
- Basic understanding of signal integrity, power distribution, and EMC considerations.
- Experience writing test reports, procedures, or basic automation scripts (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Knowledge of industry standards (IPC, UL, MIL-STD, etc.) is a plus.
- Experience designing, building, and testing electrical harnesses for harsh and rough environments
- Experience working with CAN, including decoding messages & debug
