As a Director of Product on the Network Growth team at Affirm, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of consumer financial services, commerce, and payments. The Network Growth team is responsible for growing the adoption of Affirm payments amongst merchants, consumers and partners. We do this by building Merchant Solutions that scale whether by direct integration, native and partner self service onboarding experiences or custom, API-based solutions.

Affirm is expanding in the UK and looking for a leader to guide this next phase of growth in the UK market. This is an Individual Contributor role to start with the goal of growing the market and team alongside the product. This role requires a diverse skillset across product management, market development, and go-to-market as you will be interfacing with external partners and prospects and ambassadoring the Affirm brand in a new geography. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Partnerships, Design, Engineering, Product Analytics, Finance, Risk and more to define and build end-to-end solutions that will provide consumers with the flexibility to pay their way while enabling merchants at scale. You should be outcomes driven with a very high bias for action and are undaunted by multiple dependencies both internal and external.

What you’ll do

  • New Market Growth: Develop and implement the UK product strategy post launch to drive growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Will roll up sleeves, write a doc, test a flow, talk to customers, and do what it takes to create the right product experience. Operates from a place of extreme ownership and high individual execution.
  • Partnership Excellence: Collaborate externally with marquee partners to develop custom, scalable integrations that align with their unique needs while supporting Affirm's mission and objectives.
  • Go-To-Market Alignment: Pair GTM teams inclusive of Sales, Revenue Operations, Partnerships and Product Marketing on the full pipeline, ranging from opportunity identification through delivery with
  • Detailed Program Management: Provide visibility into key workstreams and programs, inclusive of P&L details. Pipeline, roadmap, risks and upcoming trade-offs.
  • Driving towards Metrics: Identify the metrics that matter and the inputs into affecting those while providing a roadmap and perspective into timeline for affecting those metrics.
  • Autonomous Innovation & Planning: Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where ambiguity is a constant and exercise autonomy to drive product innovation and make strategic decisions. Wholly responsible for Quarterly, Bi-Annual, Annual, and Budget planning processes, inclusive of planning for partner planning processes.
  • Product Opportunity Identification: Identify new product opportunities and drive a comprehensive roadmap that’s informed by data analysis, qualitative research, and your own discovery.
  • Senior Leader Interaction: Interact effectively with senior leaders both internally and externally, presenting insights and strategies that drive our company’s objectives.
  • Cross functional leadership: Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, sales, product marketing, operations, risk, finance, and legal to ensure successful product launches and ongoing management.
  • Team Management: Eventually attract and develop a team of talented PMs across various stages of their career arc. Includes creating lanes for folks earlier in career as well as guiding managers.
  • Sets the Product bar: As a Product leader in a new geography, we’ll also be relying on this role to hold and represent our bar for Product craft. You’ll be critical in helping us identify talent within the UK and EU more broadly and ensure we keep the bar consistent across teams while also representing Product and Product Leadership at key forums and offsites in the UK and the EU.

What we look for

  • 10+ years of product management experience in the software tech industry
  • Experience working with external partners and customers while being an ambassador of your company and company’s brand
  • Familiarity considering and building within partner ecosystems
  • Solid technical chops that allow you to have in depth technical discussions and opinions
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with a diverse stakeholder audience
  • Experience balancing time to market and rigor, striking the right balance between flexibility and consistency, and comfortable communicating priorities
  • An obsession for getting the details right, but also knowing how to ship on time
  • Comfortable in an ambiguous matrixed organization
  • Will collaborate with domestic and international technology teams.
  • Ability to identify product opportunities through data analysis, qualitative research, and field research.
  • Experience building and developing PM teams
  • Solid familiarity with payments, commerce, fintech or b2b2c models. Bonus points for direct experience with consumer lending
  • An understanding for how to operate within regulation while also innovating

Pay Grade - GBR33
Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
GBR base pay range per year:
Min: £155,400
Mid: £194,200
Max: £233,100
