The Trust and Safety Experience team owns all customer facing components of the Trust & Safety Platform. The team supports the user interfaces for Affirm Products like Card, Savings, Prequal, Checkout, User Portal and Repayment flows across various geographies. The team builds the User Experience for sign in / signup, authentication, risk , fraud detection & mitigation flows. We are looking for a strong software engineer to build and enhance user interfaces and backend APIs to deliver the Identity and Fraud decisions for users who come through various platforms (Web, iOS, Android) and entry channels. You will be responsible for building optimizations through experimentation and improving the E2E conversion.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with product and engineering managers to implement business critical features enabling new user experiences across the entire stack (mobile, web, backend).
  • Consistently generate simple and elegant designs, and write high-quality code that can be easily understood and leveraged by others.
  • Build relationships with people across engineering and other organizations for the design, implementation, roll-out and maintenance of projects.
  • Actively participate in making their team and workplace an inclusive environment for people from all backgrounds.

What We Look For

  • 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • A self-driven and motivated engineer who takes pride and ownership in navigating through ambiguities and solving complex technical/organizational problems.
  • Experience designing and building distributed systems and applications, real-time, scalable web services, REST APIs, developer portals.
  • Proficiency in Python is a must.
  • Proficiency in object-oriented and dynamically typed languages.
  • Proficiency in unit test and integration test frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS
  • Experience with data frameworks such as Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes and Airflow
  • Passion for working with cross-functional teams including product, design, analytics and business teams.
  • A humble team-player who places the needs of others first and participates in the development of peers on the team.

Pay Grade - USA29
Employees new to Affirm or promoted into a new role, typically begin in the min to mid range.
USA base pay range (CA, WA, NY, NJ, CT) per year:
Min: $138,800
Mid: $173,500
Max: $208,200

USA base pay range (all other U.S. states) per year:
Min: $124,900
Mid: $156,100
Max: $187,300
