Overview
At Advocate, our mission is to empower Americans to obtain the government support they've earned. Advocate aims to reduce long wait times and bureaucratic obstacles of the current Social Security Disability application process by utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning, crossed with the knowledge and experience of our small team of EDPNA’s and case managers.
We are seeking an Operations Support member who is passionate about our mission and serving our customers. We are currently a small team, but we are growing our client base rapidly. We are seeking team members who are eager to learn and comfortable with a fast paced environment, while always putting our claimants first.
The Operations Support role requires a high level of attention to detail as well as client service skills. You will be the face of Advocate and one of the first folks our new clients interact with - with most communication happening over the phone. In this role you will manage a variety of administrative tasks associated with helping our clients through the eligibility process and are encouraged to seek out opportunities for automation in the role. You will take on a diverse set of responsibilities and wear many hats, but the below list is what we know will be important today.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in scheduling all initial client calls and appointments, including reminders and follow ups
  • Own our medical records processes, including; sending medical records requests to claimants’ medical providers, making follow up calls to ensure timely receipt of records, organize medical records for summaries (by providers and in chronological order)
  • Answer and place phone calls to clients to assist with scheduling with stellar customer service, professionalism, enthusiasm, and compassion
  • Processes, logs, and files incoming mail and faxes
  • Manage data entry for new clients, transferring info from initial applications and appeal forms to client database
  • Learn and utilize various technology systems
  • Document and develop opportunities for automation throughout your work

Qualifications

  • You are a problem solver, comfortable with technology, teamwork and communication
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all things you do
  • Driven to help as many customers as possible, with a high level of service
  • 1-2 years experience working in an operations or administrative job
  • You believe in continuous learning and have a desire to learn about Social Security Disability Insurance and technology
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers and work effectively as part of a team
  • You have a demonstrated commitment to doing good and helping people
  • Bonus if you have an interest in AI and use any of the available tools in your own life
This role is currently remote, but we anticipate that it will be in person in central Florida or NYC sometime in late 2024.
